College Football Removing the Red Shirt

So Dan Beebe the commisioner of the Big 12 is trying to drum up support to basically remove the red shirt from college football and make it so players have 5 years to play. I think it is a good idea based on the fact that the schedules keep getting longer and the scholarships keep getting fewer. Actually what I would like to see is them go back to the 105 scholarship limit. Then you have 21 scholarships each year over that 5 year span. It would be much better for college football. With the bowl system and all parity like the NFL has just doesn't work.

If you go to playoffs that is a different story and a different blog post.
