Return to Husker Football Glory?!?

Tom Osborne will be announced as the interim Athletic Director at the University of Nebraska in a press conference later today. Does this mark a return to glory for the football program? I definitely hope so.
Tom Osborne and Bob Devaney defined what Nebraska Football was and in many people’s minds; what Husker Football should be. Tom was head coach at UNL for 25 years winning 3 national championships in his last four years. Under Tom the football team was always in the hunt but just couldn’t seem to get it done until Tom’s last few years.
Now with Osborne as AD what does that mean for Callahan? I have heard that Tom was not happy with the hiring of Callahan, so now with the Football program in shambles does Tom make a move, I think yes. I believe that Callahan will be forced to make some coaching changes and I have heard that Charlie McBride in among the names for the Defensive Coordinator position for the end of the season and that Callahan will be fired after the Colorado game.
So if Callahan is let go, who will be the next coach at UNL? Turner Gill, Tom Rathman, Monte Kiffin? Not sure but I hope it is someone with a sense of the traditions of Nebraska Football.

Steve Pederson has just been asked to resign as AD as the University of Nebraska!!! It is a great day!!
Rumors are the either Dave Remington or Tom Osbourne will replace him in either a full time or intermediary roll.
Coaches are next!!!

Time to fire a couch

So Pederson gave Callahan a new contract and then Callahan goes on to have a season that looks a lot like the season before Solich got fired. If Callahan is such a great recruiter why is it that our defense can't stop anyone? Where are all these recruits?
I think it is time for chancellor Perlman to step down, Pederson to be fired along with Callahan. Maybe we can get Solich back, at least he has been on a National Championship coaching staff.
The three men who may have ruined Nebraska Football, Chancellor Harvey Perlman who hired Pederson and let him fire Frank Solich after hiring a whole new coaching staff. Funny, Bo Pelini is couching the hell out of that LSU defense and we can't stop anyone.
Steve Pederson, the AD that came to Nebraska and destroyed 50+ years of tradition. I don't know, 5 National Championships under the old system, but I guess that 5 was to large a number for Steve to count.
Bill Callahan, the man who is such a coaching genius that he got rolled in a Superbowl because he didn't change his play calls. This guy is said to be a great recruiter but all his top recruits end up playing for other colleges. He hasn't won a big game since taking over and has had his 4 years and the team looks worse in some cases than it did under Solich.
I have an idea, lets coach and recruit some defense. All the defensive coachs should be fired ASAP.Labels: Football
